Delivering Happiness - Tony Hsieh1st Jul 2010 I managed to score myself a free preview copy of this book, Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh, through a twitter promotion. Another good reason to get onto twitter! This book, written by the CEO of Zappos, is an account of his journey as an entrepreneur as much as it is about the company that he has become most well known for building. The journey in itself is interesting enough for a book but he goes much further - providing us with the detail behind the company that is recognised around the world for its customer service. One thing that really impressed me is how open Hsieh's communication with employees is. He includes examples of all-staff emails that explain quite strategic business moves clearly, honestly and positively. I don't know why I'm so surprised about that because one of their core values is to Build Open and Honest Relationships with Communication - maybe it's because most companies say things like that and then shut down the communication when it all gets a bit too hard. I've experienced Zappo's customer service first-hand and it is pretty amazing. The book gives some great insights into the reasons why. I highly recommend this book. But you might have to pay for your copy - $42.97 on fishpond - available from 8 July 2010. Reader CommentsThere are currently no comments. Be the first to post a comment. |
